Jerulas

Jerulas is a hive world in the Jerulas system, brought into the Imperium by the Black Templars under High Marshal Ludoldus during the Jerulas Crusade. It lies on the boundary between Segmentum Pacificus and Segmentum Tempestus and had long been isolated from the Imperium before the Crusade. On this site it is located within the Jerulas system, alongside the station that shares its name.

Missionaries sent to the world were killed, and the Black Templars returned in force. The ensuing sieges of the hive cities caused the Chapter heavy losses until the Artificer Simagus designed the Land Raider Crusader, a heavily armoured assault transport, which reduced the value of the defenders’ fortifications. The defenders claimed that Roboute Guilliman’s predecessor, Rogal Dorn, had designed those fortifications; the Templars, who descend from Dorn’s successor Sigismund, were not persuaded by the claim. Sources place the campaign in the thirty-ninth millennium but differ over the dates.

Jerulas retains its significance as the place where the Land Raider Crusader originated. This entry treats the world as distinct from the Jerulas station and the Dironth Belt of Iron forge, and keeps the Jerulas system as its parent location.
