Jopall

Jopall is an agricultural world in the Armageddon subsector whose citizens are born in debt and may enlist in the Indentured Squadrons to discharge it. The world is peaceful, and its economy rests on agriculture rather than on industry or conquest.

Every citizen of Jopall inherits a debt at birth. Service in the Indentured Squadrons, the military formations in which the debt is worked off, allows them to clear it. The arrangement gives the planet’s regiments a continuous supply of recruits. During the Third War, Jopall’s troops engaged Orks heavily at Hive Tartarus.

The debt-based system of recruitment gives Jopall a standing among the agricultural worlds of the subsector as a dependable source of manpower for the Imperial Guard. The world also appears in records under the names Jopali and Jopalli.
