Kasr Partox
Kasr Partox was the eighth Cadian kasr, overrun during the thirteenth Black Crusade and later absorbed into a daemon world. As one of the fortress-cities raised to hold the Cadian Gate against the forces of Chaos, it formed part of the defensive network that had, for millennia, been Cadia’s purpose and the Imperium’s bulwark in the region.
When Abaddon the Despoiler launched the thirteenth Black Crusade against Cadia, Kasr Partox was one of the kasrs that came under direct assault. Iron Warriors siege companies and Black Legion warbands pressed the attack on the ground, while Dark Eldar slavers moved against the dying population, and between them the defenders were overwhelmed. Once the kasr had fallen, a Blackstone Fortress turned its weapons on the ruins, adding orbital bombardment to the ground devastation already inflicted.
Cadia itself was destroyed in the crusade’s climactic battle, and Kasr Partox did not pass into whatever remained of Imperial administration afterwards. It merged with the world Solar Mariatus, and the combined mass was remade as a daemon world, a transformation that severed it entirely from its former role in the Cadian defences. Kasr Partox is accordingly remembered as one of the kasrs lost with Cadia rather than as a surviving fortress world, its name preserved in the record of the thirteenth Black Crusade even though the place itself no longer exists in any form the Imperium would recognise.
