Ksi’myen

Ksi’m’yen was the first sept world of the Tau Third Sphere, an Imperial planet taken by stealth while its garrison was absent. A sept is a Tau colony world, and Ksi’m’yen holds the distinction of being the first such settlement established within the Third Sphere.

The Tau seized the planet while the Imperial garrison was away. Humans who submitted to Tau rule were relocated deeper into the Tau Empire to be assimilated. At a later date, a captured Gorgon genestealer attacked the Earth Caste laboratories on the world. The Earth Caste is the Tau technical and scientific caste. The outbreak continued until the Fire Caste, the Tau warrior caste, intervened.

Ksi’m’yen was afterwards placed under quarantine for ten years before being declared clean. The world is recorded both as the opening acquisition of the Third Sphere and as the site of a genestealer outbreak that required military action and prolonged isolation to resolve.
