Kvariam Alpha

Kvariam Alpha is an Imperial ocean world in Ultima Segmentum, where the T’au concealed seabed mining settlements until Space Wolves destroyed them. The entry concerns the underwater campaign fought there under Gunnar Red Moon. It is distinct from Fenris and from any T’au sept.

T’au Fire Warriors held the planet’s small land-mass, but the principal colony consisted of cities on the ocean floor, which the T’au kept hidden for a decade. Imperial Guard forces could not operate at that depth. Red Moon therefore led the Space Wolves along the silt in airtight Land Raiders, and his Terminators deployed into propeller-tailed battlesuits. They shattered the glass of the mining installations, and the sea filled with xenos (alien forces) before the T’au withdrew.

Kvariam Alpha remains notable as the underwater engagement described in the Codex Space Wolves. Unofficial summaries retain Ultima Segmentum as its parent region and do not merge this ocean world with Fenris or with the later T’au conquest of Khollorn VII.
