Lucky Space

Lucky Space is a void region of the Scarus Sector, forming part of the setting of the Eisenhorn novels by Dan Abnett. It is best known as the stretch of space in which the freeport of Bonner’s Reach is situated, the latter serving as a way-station and haven for shipping passing through the area.

As with much of the Scarus Sector, Lucky Space lies within a portion of Imperial-held space subject to the irregular currents and hazards typical of the region’s astrography, a factor that shaped the character of the freeports and waystations established within it. Bonner’s Reach, as the region’s principal attested feature, functioned as a hub for independent traders, pilgrims, and other transient void-farers, and it was in this capacity that the area came to the attention of agents of the Imperial Inquisition during the events chronicled in the Eisenhorn stories.

Beyond its association with Bonner’s Reach, comparatively little else has been documented of Lucky Space’s broader extent, population, or governance. It is recorded principally as a backdrop to the investigations of Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn, and its inclusion in the wider lore of the Scarus Sector remains limited to this context.
