Merov

Merov is a hive world in the Golgenna Reach of the Calixis Sector, best known as the home of the Merovech Combine.

Beyond this identification, gazetteers of the sector record little of Merov’s history, population, or governance, and the hive does not feature among the more extensively documented worlds of the Reach. The Golgenna Reach itself is one of the better-charted subsectors of the Calixis Sector, administered in the shadow of Scintilla, the sector capital and seat of the Lord Sector. Set against such neighbours, Merov remains a minor entry on the map: its place in the Reach is attested chiefly through its association with the Combine that bears its name, rather than through any recorded campaign, uprising, or figure of note tied to the world itself.

The Merovech Combine is the hive’s principal claim to notice, and sector gazetteers treat the two as closely bound. No detailed account survives of the Combine’s trade, industry, or standing relative to the other mercantile houses of the Golgenna Reach, and its activities beyond this bare association with Merov are not otherwise recorded.

The Merovech Combine should not be confused with the Merovech pattern of plasma gun, which shares its name. Whether any connection exists between the hive, the Combine, and the weapon pattern is disputed among enthusiasts, and no such connection is established here.
