N’dras

N’dras was a T’au sept in the Second Sphere that the Ethereals later emptied of its population, for reasons they never stated. A sept is a settled T’au world, and the Ethereals are the caste that governs the T’au Empire.

The Ethereals gave no explanation for the depopulation. The few inhabitants who remain are generally described as brooding, quick-tempered and untrustworthy. Instruments belonging to the Earth Caste, the T’au technical caste, continue to record unexplained readings from the abandoned cities.

The name later acquired a second association. Operations connected with the Ghostkeel and with Third Sphere black operations brought the designation Ghosts of N’dras back into circulation, though it is spoken of only quietly. N’dras is therefore known chiefly for its unexplained abandonment and for the reputation that followed it.
