Occludus
Occludus is an Imperial world in the 40K setting, recorded as the fortress of the Death Spectres Space Marine Chapter. It matters in the wider story chiefly as the seat from which that Chapter is organised and sustained, and it is the place most often named when the Death Spectres are discussed as an institution rather than as a fighting force in the field. Accounts of its physical character and exact position are sparse, and Orrery does not assign it a galactic location beyond what the setting states.
The world holds importance through the Chapter that garrisons it. As a Space Marine fortress, it serves as the base for recruitment, training, armoury and the keeping of Chapter records, and it is the anchor to which the Death Spectres return between deployments. Later tradition and Chapter lore associate the fortress with the Chapter’s distinctive culture and its emphasis on preserving knowledge. Other Imperial authorities are not recorded as contesting the world, and its standing rests on the Death Spectres’ long tenure rather than on any attested siege or change of ownership.
On Orrery, Occludus is linked to the Death Spectres as its parent faction, and it is best read alongside the Chapter’s own entry and the wider Adeptus Astartes cluster of contemporaries. Its timeline hook is the Death Spectres’ occupation of the fortress in the 41st millennium, and no specific dated events on the planet are given here because none are firmly established. Its present status is that of an active Chapter stronghold; where sources differ on details, this entry states what is known and leaves the remainder unrecorded.
