Orar

Orar is a hive world in the Gothic Sector, the namesake of its subsector, and the site of an early Chaos reversal in the 12th Black Crusade. The world is remembered chiefly for this engagement rather than as a personal objective of Abaddon.

Warmaster Malefica Arkham attempted a surprise raid on the system during the opening phase of the Gothic War. The battlegroup of Captain Compel Bast was already at combat stations, and the Imperious pursued the Chaos fleet out of the system. For the remainder of the war, the convoy lane between Bhein Morr and Orar remained a district of pirate activity.

Orar gives its name to the surrounding subsector, and its defence is recorded as an early setback for the Chaos forces in the Gothic War. The Sons of Orar Chapter bears the same name, but Imperial records do not establish that the Chapter was founded on the world.
