Praetoria

Praetoria is a hive world of the Segmentum Tempestus, situated near the naval yards at Bakka, that supplies recruits to the Praetorian Guard.

Praetoria’s society is sharply divided by wealth. Its rulers prosper, while the remainder of the population lives under rationing and severe hardship. The Praetorian Guard is raised largely from the world’s hive-gangers, who are trained through parade-ground drill and a regime of punishments. These punishments would appear excessive even by the standards of Mordian regiments, which are themselves noted for strict discipline.

Praetorian regiments retain their formation under fire and continue to dress ranks in the midst of battle. The Munitorum, the Imperial military administration, continues to request additional regiments from Praetoria.
