Quaddis

Quaddis is a pleasure world in Golgenna, divided into noble fiefs and classed neither as a hive world nor as a shrine world. Its function is leisure for the wealthy of the surrounding sector.

Faustino Haarlock parcelled the world into noble fiefs. The arrangement ensured that Imperial law never applied to it in full. The principal settlement, Xicarph, is built of white stone and serves as a resort for the wealth of the sector. It is noted for its wines and its private palaces. The remainder of the world consists of gardens and sea.

Quaddis is therefore distinguished by its political and social arrangement rather than by industry or religious observance. The division into fiefs limits the reach of Imperial law, and the wealth of the sector supports its palaces and its wine trade. It should be catalogued as a pleasure world, not as a hive or a shrine.
