Sagan III

Sagan III is an Administratum tithe-world and Karthan fleet anchorage in the Maelstrom Zone, contested during the Badab War. The system combined a administered planetary holding with a fleet anchorage, and its value to both belligerents was chiefly logistical.

Both sides regarded the system as the logistical prize of the conflict. In seeking to deny it to the Loyalists, Astral Claws forces employed virus weapons, which killed tens of thousands of people. The Loyalists nevertheless took the system.

Following its capture, Sagan III became the Imperium’s principal point of entry into the Maelstrom Zone. It should be distinguished from the Sagan of the Melchior system, which is a separate location.
