Skrynne

Skrynne is a jungle death world of the Calixis Sector on the Spinward Front, settled only after Storm Wardens spent a decade fighting its Orks. It is a Periphery colony, and it could not be settled until that campaign had ended. This map places Skrynne under its Calixis parent and does not treat it as a watch-station of the Jericho Reach.

Early colonial attempts prepared either for the conditions of a death world or for war against the Orks, but never for both, and they failed. The Storm Wardens’ Fourth Company eventually made the world habitable, and the chapels of Skrynne still display its badges. The Orks continue to return. Skrynne-guard and later Guard regiments hold the river valleys, and the jungle has not been fully brought under cultivation.

Skrynne is significant chiefly as a location associated with Only War rather than with Deathwatch. Unofficial summaries retain its place in the Calixis Sector and distinguish it from Skapula in the Jericho Reach. They also do not present the Storm Wardens as still garrisoning every trail on the world.
