Spectoris

Spectoris is an ocean agri-world in the Drusus Marches with a population of two million and a marine ecosystem hostile to anything foreign. Its principal value lies in the marine protein its waters yield.

Angevin surveyors identified the protein resource, but the sector made no attempt to harvest it until 312.M41. That attempt showed that the world-ocean destroys foreign material placed in it. Sailors on Spectoris still say that the sea is awake, an expression that reflects this experience.

The work of Genetor Redole made sustained harvesting possible. Redole’s coral paste allowed Enkaidan and the fishing vessels to operate without being destroyed by the ocean. Spectoris has since functioned as a food-producing world, and the paste remains the means by which its harvest is carried out.
