Stygia

Stygia is a dead world in northern Ultima, formerly a Knight world, whose population was devastated by a daemonic incursion. Its ruins are now patrolled by a single living inhabitant, the Freeblade Madrigal.

Following the incursion, which reduced the population of the former Knight world, the dead of Stygia began to rise. Madrigal, the last of his house, remains the only living person on the planet. He patrols the ruins to keep the dead buried and to watch for any return of the daemons.

Stygia is not to be confused with Stygies VIII, with the forge world Stygia XII, or with the Stygia–Aquilon twin worlds of the Executioners. Its standing rests on its condition as a dead world under the continuing watch of its last defender.
