Tash’var
Tash’var is a sept world of the T’au Empire’s Second Sphere Expansion, holding the frontier between Fal’shia and D’yanoi on the Empire’s south-eastern fringe. Its position places it among the more exposed Second Sphere holdings, open to incursion from beyond the Empire’s acknowledged borders rather than sheltered behind the older, better-garrisoned septs of the First Sphere.
Ork raiding bands and void pirates have pressed against Tash’var for generations, a condition accounts describe as near-constant rather than episodic. This sustained hostility has shaped the sept’s Fire Warriors into forces noted for hardiness and practicality over polish, and it is credited with the origin of Tash’var’s Breacher Teams, close-quarters specialists developed to clear boarders and raiders from void stations and settlement corridors where the Empire’s usual emphasis on mobility and range offers little advantage. Tash’var’s Breacher cadres are counted among the finest the Empire fields, and other septs look to Tash’var’s methods when training their own close-quarters formations.
Because of this hard-won competence, Tash’var functions as the principal bastion for the thinner, more lightly held colony septs further out along the frontier, offering a nearer source of seasoned reinforcement than the Empire’s core worlds can provide. Its contemporaries in the Second Sphere Expansion, including Fal’shia and D’yanoi, rely on Tash’var’s forward position to absorb pressure that might otherwise fall directly upon them. The sept’s current standing follows this same pattern: a frontier world whose worth to the Empire lies less in wealth or population than in the tested warriors it continues to supply.
