Tephaine

Tephaine is the hive world of the Tephaine System, on the edge of the Adrantis Nebula, within the Calixis region. It is a location that houses the sub-sector rather than a principal setting of any crusade. This atlas lists it under the Tephaine System entry.

Four worlds make up the system: the hive world Tephaine, the agri-worlds (planets given over to agriculture) Siculi and Tephaine Minor, and the pleasure-world Reth, which serves as a resort for Calixis wealth. Siculi grows protoalgia. The nearest notable neighbour is Baraspine. The Dark Heresy roleplaying game uses the name as a location on its map and does not present it as a stage for Black Crusade.

Tephaine’s standing is that of an Adrantis hive world, not a shrine capital. This entry keeps the Adrantis parent, does not raise Reth to the status of a convent, and attributes to the world no war that the Calixis gazetteer does not record.
