Vaxanide

Vaxanide is a hive in the Malfian Sub-Sector on the Calixis rim, governed from Hive Vaxanhive by House Vaxanide. Its exports comprise porcelain, glass and fish. The hive also maintains a Drusus shrine, which pilgrims regard as efficacious.

Vaxanide has remained comparatively poor and lawless, and has consequently stood outside the inner circle of Scintilla. Its defence has depended on Battlefleet Calixis, which defeated Ork raids against the hive in 410.M41 and the hulk Pinnacle of Savagery in 507.M41.

Vaxanide’s standing is that of a marginal but functioning frontier holding. Order is maintained chiefly within the hive precincts, and beyond them the frontier remains violent and contested.
