Vraks System

The Vraks System is the Scarus armoury well and site of the Siege of Vraks, a three-world gravity well whose only inhabited body was Vraks Prime. Cardinal Xaphan turned the system’s magazines into the centre of a war of attrition that lasted eighteen years.

The 88th Siege Army of the Death Korps retook the system from traitor forces, the Alpha Legion, and later warbands dedicated to Khorne and Nurgle, at a cost of fourteen million lives. Uryx is an icy asteroid, while Vraks Secundus and Vraks Tertius were already lifeless worlds. The Inquisition placed what remained under quarantine.

The Vraks System is still cited as a cautionary example of an armoury world placed under a cardinal’s authority. Unofficial maps assign the system to the Vincies subsector, although some lex charts file Vraks under Kerak. This entry concerns the system as the site of the siege.
