Vulcanis System

The Vulcanis System is a forge location in the Segmentum Obscurus, centred on Stygies VIII, a moon orbiting a gas giant. The gas giant is noted for its Vanquishers. The forge is also associated with the Xenarite practice of studying alien machines in secret.

During the Horus Heresy, the Eldar preserved the forge. The Deathwatch later attempted to end the Xenarite practice. The priesthood continues to conceal its work behind stealth screens and deleted archives.

The Vulcanis System is significant as a forge that survived with the assistance of xenos and has not disavowed that assistance. Its principal seat is a moon rather than a planet, and the gas giant it orbits is a separate body from the forge itself. Summaries of the system retain its place within the Segmentum Obscurus.
