Iskandar Khayon

Iskandar Khayon is a Sorcerer and warband leader of the Black Legion, a Chaos Space Marine sworn to Abaddon the Despoiler in the Eye of Terror. He is recorded as one of the commanders who serve within Abaddon’s host rather than as an independent warlord, and his name is attached to a warband of his own that draws Space Marines from several Traitor Legions into a single fighting force.

Khayon belongs to the period that followed the Horus Heresy, when Abaddon carried the Talon of Horus and the Warmaster’s cause into the Eye of Terror and rebuilt the Sons of Horus as the Black Legion. Accounts of his origin differ, and his parent Legion and the circumstances of his turn to sorcery are not consistently recorded. Within the Black Legion he is placed among the senior commanders alongside Falkus Kibre, and later tradition holds that both found Abaddon’s transactional dealings with the four Chaos powers unsettling in a leader who demanded absolute loyalty from his own followers. Members of his warband, such as the Raptor Lucoryphus, are recorded as serving under him in operations undertaken for Abaddon.

Khayon’s standing rests on his place in the Black Legion’s command structure and on the Eye of Terror as its base, from which the Black Crusades were launched against the Imperium. He is a contemporary of Abaddon, Falkus Kibre and the warband leaders who followed the Despoiler through the Thirteenth Black Crusade, the fall of Cadia and the opening of the Great Rift. His present status is recorded as active, though his individual movements and fate in those campaigns are not consistently attested.
