Maktlan Kutlakh, styled the World Killer, is a Necron commander of the Maynarkh Dynasty associated with the Orphean War against the Imperium of Man. He belongs to the Maynarkh, a dynasty of Segmentum Tempestus whose tomb worlds were concealed within a warp-storm-wracked region of the galactic south-west during the Great Sleep. His name is recorded among the principal military figures of that court, and his title reflects the dynasty’s doctrine of systematic extermination rather than conquest.

Kutlakh is named in Maynarkh tradition beside the commanders who led the dynasty’s Undying Legions after its awakening. That awakening followed the supernova of the Caracol Binary Star, which left many Maynarkh as feral Flayed Ones and others consumed by bloodlust until Phaerakh Xun’bakyr, styled the Mother of Oblivion, gave the court its singular purpose. In the Orphean War the legions advanced against the Imperial holdings of the Orpheus Sector, with fighting recorded on worlds including Amarah Prime.
