The Parasite of Mortrex

The Parasite of Mortrex is the Tyranid that turned a fortress world into a cautionary tale about looking up. It is a winged, hooked horror that lays Ripper broods inside living prey. The host lasts long enough to run back to their own lines. Then the Rippers answer the hatch.

Mortrex learned this the hard way. Imperial command structure dissolved into nests. The creature that did it became a named strain, which is the Hive Mind's version of a medal. Other war zones have reported the same silhouette, the same screaming, the same sudden surplus of small teeth.
