Mortrex

Mortrex is an Ultima Imperial world remembered as the Tyranid implant-horror that named the Parasite of Mortrex. Hive Fleet Kraken used the crust as a nursery; later editions still print the flying ovipositor as a reminder.

Ripper gestation, winged synapse-beasts, and a planetary name that became a monster's title are the whole story. Mortrex is not Devlan, not Tyran, and not a random Kraken snack with no unique bioform. The Imperium lost the census. The Hive Fleet kept the brand.

Mortrex still matters as the parasite's naming world. Unofficial fan summaries keep the Ultima parent and do not file this pin as a living tithe world or confuse it with other Kraken victims such as Devlan.
