Abaddon claims Drach’nyen
Abaddon claimed the daemon sword Drach’nyen at the Tower of Silence on Uralan during the First Black Crusade. Beneath the tower lay a labyrinth in which a daemon born of the first murder had long been bound. To reach it, Abaddon passed guardians wrought of dark energy and entered a mirrored heart, where he followed a figure wreathed in golden light to the centre of the maze and there grasped a shard of shifting darkness. The daemon then took the form of a blade in his grip. Accounts differed as to when the claiming occurred. One dated it to 781.M31, the year in which the First Black Crusade began. Another placed it at the end of a crusade that had by then lasted decades, though it agreed that the crusade itself had begun in 781.M31. Both versions were recorded, and neither was given precedence over the other. Drach’nyen, called the End of Empires, remained bound to Abaddon from that day onward. He later used the sword to break the gates of the Kromarch’s citadel. The blade was not forged by any hand but claimed whole from a daemon already ancient and already bound beneath Uralan.
