Arks of Omen on Arthas Moloch

The Arks of Omen on Arthas Moloch was the fighting of early M42 in which Commander Farsight’s forces fought Ork warbands and a Chaos host on Arthas Moloch. The Chaos host was led by the Daemon Prince Ughalax, and the fighting formed part of the Arks of Omen campaign, a Chaos offensive to gather the fragments of an artefact called the Key. Ughalax’s Ark of Omen Unhallowed arrived in the Dregrokk system after the T’au victory there, seeking a Key-Fragment on Arthas Moloch. World Eaters under Gakhar attacked the T’au and Ork fleets over Dregrokk, and Farsight withdrew to Arthas Moloch, arriving hours ahead of his enemies, with Orks in pursuit. He conducted a guerrilla campaign in the manner of the Kauyon, the T’au doctrine of ambush, to draw the Orks and the Chaos forces against each other, and sent a drone to the T’au Empire asking for aid. Commander Brightsword was killed, and Ob’lotai and Bravestorm were badly injured. Farsight concentrated his forces in the Star Dais Exclusion Zone and ordered decapitation strikes that killed many enemy leaders, among them the Night Lords leader known as the Flenseling Prince. A holographic message from Aun’va refused aid and condemned Farsight and the Enclaves. At the Great Star Dais, Farsight used the blood of fallen enemies to activate the portal, releasing daemons upon the Ork and Chaos armies. He experienced visions in which his battlesuit became a giant axe-bearing war engine and was briefly overcome by bloodlust, then recovered and ordered a fighting withdrawal to the waiting T’au ships. The Chaos forces left after obtaining the Key-Fragment, and the Orks, whose boarders had captured the Unhallowed and renamed it Da Suparig, lost interest. Farsight later returned with his entourage and found the Dais inactive and organic life returning to the world.
