The battle barge sacrifice that ended Acheron was Gabriel Angelos’s crashing of a battle barge into a fissure, which broke the planet apart. The event concludes the campaign of Dawn of War III, which is set on Acheron. It concerns that world alone and no other location bearing a similar name. Acheron was the setting in which Angelos and the Blood Ravens raced Farseer Macha and Gorgutz for the Spear of Khaine. The Spear proved to be a lure set by Chaos. When the trap opened, Angelos crashed a battle barge into a fissure, and the planet broke apart. Acheron no longer survives intact. Later maps continue to record it because the war took place there. The world is the third Dawn of War battlefield of the Blood Ravens, and its destruction is the outcome of the contest over the Spear of Khaine.
