Battle for Honoria

The Battle for Honoria was fought in 949.M41 on the Imperial world of Honoria between the Imperium and the Orks of Waaagh! Groblonik. No star system is recorded for the world. Less than two years after a Mechanicus delegation from Atanix Triumvirae arrived in search of archaeotech, Groblonik’s Waaagh! struck. The planet’s PDF, several thousand Skitarii, and twenty regiments each of the Mordian Iron Guard and the Vostroyan Firstborn held the fortified cities while the Imperial Navy failed to keep the Orks from landing in millions. Arch Magos Hieronymous Diezen invoked the Pact of Kulgotha; the Dark Angels diverted the 5th Company under Master Zadakiel, with Ezekiel and Turmiel, from support of Chief Librarian Danatheum on Aryand. The Strike Cruiser Sword of Caliban reached the system and the Dark Angels took overall command. Zadakiel dueled Groblonik at the capital Aurelianum, was gravely wounded, and fell into a sus-an coma after Interrogator-Chaplain Puriel died saving him. Command passed to Ezekiel, who named Sergeant Balthasar his second. Groblonik’s later stratagem piled Ork corpses into ramps that overran the Sularian Gate. Ezekiel lost his left eye to a stray shot, recovered with a simple bionic replacement, and returned in time to kill Groblonik with his psychic might during Balthasar’s counter-attack. The Waaagh! shattered and the remaining Orks were exterminated. Danatheum afterwards stepped down, and Ezekiel became Grand Master of the Librarians.
