Ezekiel

Ezekiel is Grand Master of Librarians of the Dark Angels, Keeper of the Book of Salvation, and Holder of the Keys. He is regarded within the Chapter as the most powerful psyker in its ranks since Lion El’Jonson. He carries the force sword Traitor’s Bane, the bolt pistol Deliverer, the artificer armour Secret’s Shield, and the Book of Salvation, and he holds the keys to the Rock’s sealed halls, including the cell that once held Luther.

He was recruited on Delphyna Three in 516.M41, after the Dark Angels conquered that feudal world and the Librarian Meroth found a ten-year-old psyker of great talent imprisoned in the capital. After years in the 10th Company he survived a final mental assault by Meroth that unleashed a victim’s worst fears; Ezekiel opened his mind fully, Meroth collapsed under the pain he received, and Ezekiel was admitted as a Librarian.

On Korsh he led Deathwing against a Daemon that damaged his foresight; he spent a year on the Rock recovering and trained Turmiel, whose divinations he passed to Azrael while his own foresight was gone. In 949.M41 Danatheum sent him with the 5th Company to Honoria under the Pact of Kulgotha. After Master Zadakiel fell, Ezekiel took command. At the Sularian Gate he lost his left eye, received a simple bionic replacement which he has refused to upgrade, returned to the field, and killed Warboss Groblonik. Danatheum then stepped aside and Ezekiel became Grand Master. He later returned to Korsh to question the Daemon and learned that the augmetic eye had restored his foresight.

One of his duties is to test Masters and Grand Masters for purity of purpose; a third of those selected for promotion have declined rather than face his scrutiny. In accounts of the Rhamiel Betrayal he fought beside Azrael against Gendor Skraivok, the Painted Count, either during Naberius’s death or in Azrael’s subsequent duel. In 960.M41, during the Pandorax Campaign, he fought on the asteroid Malefus Murex beside Belial and three other Librarians against Khorne Berzerkers, and afterwards met Kaldor Draigo aboard the Revenge.

In the Arks of Omen, while Azrael recovered from the Rubicon Primaris, Ezekiel and Belial held command of the Rock. When Vashtorr attacked he transferred fleet command to Sammael, led fighting through the corridors, and held the Nameless Gate under orders to die before letting it open. Before Idolatros he led a foresight rite that cost Librarians their lives or sanity and confirmed Vashtorr’s trap. On Wyrmwood he assaulted the Warpforge Palace with Azrael, Belial, and Asmodai, and later led the surviving Librarians against Daemons during the withdrawal.
