The Battle for Macragge relief fleet denotes Battlefleet Bakka’s part in the defence of Macragge, home world of the Ultramarines. The action belongs to a pattern of Imperial Navy despatches toward crises on the Ultramarines’ home world, and it is recorded chiefly through the losses that Battlefleet Bakka sustained rather than through any surviving account of the engagement’s course; no date or outcome for the Macragge action itself has been preserved. Battlefleet Bakka is the Segmentum Tempestus naval force based at Bakka, a young mineral world whose surface consists of lava seas and rafts of black rock.
