Battle for Tyrok Fields

The Battle for Tyrok Fields was fought in 999.M41 at the landing fields near Kasr Tyrok on Cadia, an early engagement of the Thirteenth Black Crusade, after Cadian High Command had ordered every Cadian Shock Troops regiment to muster on the world. The Volscani, also recorded as the Volscani Cataphracts, turned on the muster, exchanging Imperial banners for Chaos banners and firing from Leviathan transports; the governor’s command vehicle was destroyed and much of the Cadian high command was killed. The governor is recorded as Marus Porelska and as Marlus Porelska. Creed and Kell, aboard an ornithopter of the 8th, landed and Creed took command of the counter-attack, destroying the Volscani at heavy cost. In the same fighting the most trusted advisor of the Governor Secundus died of a Nurgle plague inside Kasr Vazan, which Kasrkin then sealed, and Creed was named Lord Castellan of Cadia; one account holds that he refused the title three times before accepting, because the rank and file would accept no one else, and that political opponents stood down.
