Ursarkar E. Creed

Ursarkar E. Creed was Lord Castellan of Cadia, the general who treated a fortress world as a chessboard and still lost the board. He held the Gate through Black Crusade after Black Crusade, and when Abaddon finally broke the pylons Creed did not run far enough.

He distracted the Despoiler long enough for Saint Celestine to strike, then vanished in the ruin. Trazyn the Infinite is widely believed to have taken him as a specimen. Cadia is a broken grave. The Cadian diaspora still fights as if he were issuing orders.

His daughter Ursula inherited the title, not the world. The famous last line was never a strategy. It was a dare.
