Battle of Arden IX
The Battle of Arden IX was fought during the Great Scouring that followed the Horus Heresy, when Salamanders under the primarch Vulkan tracked Fabius Bile to the world Arden IX. There Bile had raised flesh refineries and cloning vats in support of the renegade Lord Tyrell, taking foetal material in payment for his craft. No segmentum or galactic coordinates for Arden IX are firmly recorded. Vulkan’s warriors stormed the facilities and burned them in a single night. Bile is recorded as killing a dozen Space Marines in the fighting before escaping; his ship was crippled by an Imperial Gothic-class cruiser as he fled toward the Warp, and he drifted thereafter into the Eye of Terror. The action closed one of the earliest Imperial hunts for the Primogenitor after Terra and drove him into the Eye’s Crone Worlds, where he later established laboratories at Harmony and Urum.
