Battle of Parenxes
The Battle of Parenxes was a surprise attack by the Red Corsairs on a Space Marine strike force of the Space Wolves and Death Hawks Chapters stationed above the world of Parenxes, some time after the Badab War. Needing ships for his raids, Huron Blackheart ordered the attack near the Parenxes star, and his forces crippled the Space Wolves strike cruiser Wolf of Fenris. Boarding torpedoes carried the Red Corsairs aboard in three waves: the first seized the engine room so that the Space Wolves could not destroy their ship, the second took the cargo bays, and the third, led by Huron himself, struck fifty metres from the command deck. Huron stormed the bridge and killed the ship’s captain, Gnyrll Bluetooth, with the weapon that served as his right arm. Several Space Wolves renounced their oaths and swore allegiance to him, and he gave them command of the Wolf of Fenris as part of his fleet. Accounts differ on the fate of the rest of the strike force, which is described both as destroyed and as allowed to escape, and the allied Chapter is named both as the Death Hawks and as the Flame Hawks.
