Battle of the Haunted Gulf
The Battle of the Haunted Gulf was a naval engagement in the Haunted Gulf following Ghazghkull’s departure from the Third War for Armageddon. The Haunted Gulf is a barren region of space, not a world; no segmentum for it is recorded, and no coherent year is recorded for the battle. Ghazghkull left the Third War, which had begun in 998.M41, aboard the flagship Kill Wrecka. Commissar Sebastian Yarrick and High Marshal Helbrecht of the Black Templars cornered Kill Wrecka in the Haunted Gulf with an Imperial Navy fleet and a Space Marine fleet. The Ork ships were mauled in the engagement and also crippled several Imperial battleships. As a boarding action was being prepared, energy raised by weirdboys (Ork psykers) emanating from Kill Wrecka shut down the systems of the Imperial ships, and the vessel escaped into the warp; it later appeared at the Ork empire of Octarius. Yarrick was present at the battle, which was not fought on a planet.
