Blood Pact offensive
The Blood Pact offensive denotes the sustained campaigns waged by the Blood Pact across the Sabbat Worlds on behalf of the Anarch Urlock Gaur. Directed in large part through his subordinate commander Anakwanar Sek, the offensive unfolded as a shifting series of invasions, sieges and covert incursions intended to break Imperial resistance and reclaim the Sabbat Worlds for the Ruinous Powers. Rather than a single coordinated battle, it is understood as the broader strategic effort by which the Anarch’s forces sought to reverse the gains of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. The Blood Pact itself, a fanatically devoted Chaos-aligned human soldiery bound to Gaur by ritual oath, served as the principal instrument of this offensive, renowned and feared for its discipline, cruelty and refusal to yield. Its formations were deployed across numerous fronts of the crusade theatre, engaging Imperial Guard regiments, planetary defence forces and Militarum command structures in campaigns marked by heavy attrition on both sides. Sek’s direction of these operations lent the offensive a persistent, almost personal character, as Imperial forces came to regard the Blood Pact as among the most dangerous instruments the Anarch commanded. The offensive’s course was uneven, bringing periods of Chaos advance interspersed with hard-fought Imperial counteractions, and it remained a defining feature of the wider war for the Sabbat Worlds. Its persistence underscored the resilience of the Anarch’s cause and the extent to which the crusade’s outcome hinged on containing the Blood Pact’s capacity to strike where Imperial defences were weakest.
