Sabbat Worlds
The Sabbat Worlds are a sector of Segmentum Pacificus and the theatre of an Imperial crusade rather than a single world. Warmaster Slaydo named the region for the warrior-saint Sabbat, whose ancient unification of the sector and whose cult, centred on the shrine world of Hagia, gave the reconquest its religious as well as its military character. On Orrery’s overlay the Sabbat Worlds sit as a sector-level entry under Segmentum Pacificus, distinct from the single hive world of Sabbatorus and from Khulan.
Slaydo opened the crusade in 755.M41 and broke the Archenemy’s hold on the sector’s approach at the fortress world of Balhaut, a siege remembered on the graph as the founding battle of the Tanith First-and-Only under Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt, raised after Tanith’s own destruction on the eve of the campaign. Slaydo died shortly after the victory; command passed to Lord Militant, later Warmaster, Macaroth, whose decades-long eastward advance carried the war onto Hagia, Phantine, Aexe Cardinal, Ancreon Sextus and Jago against Archenemy forces led in succession by the Archon Nadzybar and the Anarch Magister Anakwanar Sek.
The crusade’s front has moved rather than closed: shrine worlds, agricultural worlds, and fortress hives have each taken their turn as its leading edge, while on occupied worlds such as Gereon Imperial agents and partisans have continued resistance behind Archenemy lines. Tanith, Hagia, and Phantine belong to this history as campaign worlds rather than as reassigned children of the sector entry, and Gaunt’s Ghosts’ service through the fighting ties the regiment’s record to many of its named engagements.
The Sabbat Worlds remain significant chiefly as the setting of that unresolved war and of the Ghosts who fight within it, prosecuted across successive Warmasters and still without a decisive victory over the Anarch’s forces. This unofficial fan resource keeps the entry at sector scale under its Segmentum Pacificus parent, separate from Sabbatorus and Khulan, and links it to the Sabbat Worlds Crusade event for the campaign’s fuller chronology.
