Blood Trials halted on Cyrene
The Blood Trials halted on Cyrene were the recruiting trials of the Blood Ravens on Cyrene, a verdant and loyal world of Subsector Aurelia, over which Gabriel Angelos presided as Captain of the Third Company in M41. Angelos was himself a son of Cyrene and had passed the same trials as a youth alongside the aspirant Isador Akios; on his return he found something gravely wrong during the selection and cut the trials short. He went at once to his strike cruiser and sent a coded astropathic signal out of the system. Its content was never made public, but within months ships of the Imperial Navy and the Inquisition appeared over Cyrene, and the halting of the trials became the first act of the Exterminatus that left the planet a dead world.
