Flame Wars

The Flame Wars were a series of engagements in M41 between the Salamanders and the Orks of the Arch-Arsonist of Charadon. No year, world, or system is recorded; the fighting took place in the Ultima Segmentum. The conflict began when the Forgefather Vulkan He’stan, searching the Ultima Segmentum for clues to the Artefacts of Vulkan, ran afoul of the Arch-Arsonist. The Arch-Arsonist’s Orks began to hunt He’stan, and their hunt grew into a Waaagh!, an Ork war host on the march. He’stan called on his Chapter for aid, and two full companies of Salamanders were required to end the conflict. He’stan had concluded early on that the trail he was following was false, and no artefact was found, but the Waaagh! was broken and many Imperial civilians in the Ultima Segmentum were saved.
