Fourth War for Armageddon

The Fourth War for Armageddon is an ongoing conflict fought on the hive world of Armageddon in M42, a continuation of the Third War for Armageddon. The Third War began in late M41; no narrower year than M42 is recorded for the Fourth War. Orks under Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka invaded again, arriving by means of a device called the Mega-Tellyshokka. Commissar Sebastian Yarrick reached the planet aboard the Space Wolves strike cruiser Ice Troll, having come from Icaria. Yarrick marched from a Space Wolves transport into a breaking Imperial line near Hive Volcanus and rallied it, before withdrawing into the hive. The hives of Helsreach, Acheron, and Tartarus came under siege; Helsreach and Hive Infernus remained beyond Yarrick’s reach, and he did not fight there. At Hive Volcanus, Ork kommandos had destroyed the astropathic choir. Yarrick led an armoured convoy, including Knights and Warhound Titans of the Legio Metalica, from the hive toward Hive Death Mire, breaking an Ork scrap fort on the way and entering Death Mire. He had the Baneblade Fortress of Arrogance lead the approach as a decoy; Ghazghkull destroyed the tank with an orbital strike from Kill Wrecka, but Yarrick, travelling in another vehicle, survived. Inside Death Mire he reached the astropathic choir and sent a distress signal using a servo-skull called the Pharus Horrifica. The signal brought Operation Imperator, a reinforcement of more than two dozen Space Marine chapters mustered under Chapter Master Marneus Calgar, and Yarrick was still commanding at Death Mire when the reinforcements arrived. The war has no recorded end. For much of the Fourth War for Armageddon, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka remained aboard the flagship Kill Wrecka, and he later set foot on Armageddon.
