Illyrian Campaign

The Illyrian campaign was a late thirtieth-millennium war in which Macragge subdued the raiding hill peoples of Illyrium, a mountainous region in its far north. Its people had long raided the civilised south, prompting Consul Konor to give command of the campaign to his son, Roboute Guilliman. Guilliman occupied the Illyrians’ sacred shrines and fought their chieftain only on the defensive. He also returned a relic that the Consuls of Macragge had taken from the Illyrians centuries earlier. The chieftain then ended the war. Meanwhile, Gallan, Konor’s co-consul, staged a coup in which Konor was mortally wounded. Guilliman broke the coup, executed the conspirators, and became sole Consul of Macragge.
