Liberation of Long Halent
The Liberation of Long Halent was the capture of Long Halent in 755.M41 by Lord Militant Dravere’s battlegroup, at the opening of Operation Redrake. Redrake was the campaign conducted under Warmaster Slaydo, and Long Halent was among its first objectives. Onscard fell alongside Long Halent. Formal Prime absorbed the heaviest fighting of this phase, while Dravere’s wing secured the objectives that could be taken more quickly. Later notes in the Codex place the 5th Royal Volpone and the 163rd Ventrillian Armour in contact with Blood Pact forces at Gorgar Ridge. The Volpone sustained losses of close to half their number following the evacuation. The liberation gave the crusade an early foothold in the campaign. The casualties recorded in connection with it remain part of the account of Redrake’s first week.
