Maledictum shattered on Tartarus
The Maledictum was shattered on Tartarus when Gabriel Angelos of the Blood Ravens destroyed the buried relic during the campaign for the world. Tartarus is an Imperial world in the Corribra Sector of the Segmentum Tempestus, and the contest for the Maledictum forms the Blood Ravens’ first named campaign in the video game Dawn of War. Angelos fought Orks, Eldar and Eliphas the Inheritor of the Word Bearers on the planet. Farseer Macha’s Eldar sought to keep the Maledictum buried, while Sindri Myr of the Alpha Legion sought to use the buried stone as a shortcut to daemonhood. Angelos won the ground but destroyed the Maledictum in the process. Tartarus suffered earthquakes as a consequence of the relic’s destruction. Later briefings continue to cite the world as a caution against relics that act on their holders, and the Dawn of War campaign remains the one with which the Blood Ravens are most closely associated. Tartarus remains within the Corribra Sector and is distinct from Acheron, the setting of Dawn of War III, and from Kadaku, a world in Space Marine 2.
