The mindwipe regimen at Balthar’s Eye was an Inquisition-mandated programme of routine memory erasure for crews observing a Warp protrusion from the station. Tech-savants monitored the anomaly for indications of the Caligari warpsurges. After each tour of duty they submitted to a thorough cleansing. The Conclave judged that, given the station’s proximity to the rift, unbroken memory was a liability it would not accept. Two measures governed the station’s operation: warding runes kept it at a safe distance from the protrusion, and the mindwipe schedule controlled the exposure of its watchers. Both remained standing orders throughout the Martyr-era reclaim.
