Balthar’s Eye

Balthar’s Eye is an Imperial observation platform in the Balthar System, where tech-savants study Caligari warpsurges at a distance from a Warp protrusion. The installation is a void station, positioned at a safe distance from the rift through which the Warp intrudes into realspace.

Monitoring crews stationed on the platform investigate the causes of the sector’s distinctive Warp storms. Because the Inquisition will not allow the knowledge gained in this work to remain in the crews’ memories, personnel undergo thorough cleansing after their duties.

Periodic mindwipe visits by the Conclave are standing practice at the platform. Balthar’s Eye remains the named watch-post of the Balthar System, recorded under the tenebra subsector on the Caligari chart.
