Perturabo at Laomedeia
Perturabo at Laomedeia denotes the intervention of the Iron Warriors’ primarch on Laomedeia, a moon of Neptune in the Sol System, after the Siege of Terra. During the Solar War, Chaos cultists had released toxic gas into the moon’s habitats, and after Horus’s death Laomedeia became a refuge for Traitors escaping the system. Word Bearers concealed there by sorcery began what they called the Great Work, the construction of a colossal device intended to rekindle the power of the warp within the Sol System and restart the war. Perturabo had remained aboard his flagship Iron Blood at the edge of the system after withdrawing his Legion from the Siege, and was still there at Horus’s death and the flight of the Traitor armies before Roboute Guilliman’s relief force. The Iron Warrior Ortag Theokon, among the Traitors on the moon, summoned him with a signal, and Perturabo came to Laomedeia, crushed the Word Bearers and derided their scheme. He then stripped the moon of its resources and personnel before withdrawing with his warriors, indicating that he did not intend to flee indefinitely and that he had a larger design in mind.
