Reclamation of the Balthar System
The Reclamation of the Balthar System was the Imperial recovery of the system by Caligari Conclave and Inquisition missions after centuries of isolation. Warpsurge had cut the system off from the Imperium for that period, and its worlds had declined into heresy. The event marks the end of that isolation and the return of the system to Imperial records. Before the reclamation, the isolation had already produced lasting changes. Argon Prime was under a dictatorship, Marax had fallen, and a cult had corrupted Balthar. Imperial fleets forced a return path through the storm, and reclaim missions from the Caligari Conclave and the Inquisition then entered the system. The reclaim teams found that civilisation on its worlds had decayed and that Chaos had taken root. The system returned to the Tenebra charts as a recently reclaimed prize rather than a quiet backwater. The reclamation therefore restored contact with the Balthar System, and it also revealed the extent of the heresy and Chaos influence that had developed during its isolation.
