Recovery of the Gauntlet of the Forge

The Recovery of the Gauntlet of the Forge was the defeat of the warhost of the Aeldari corsair prince Iath Bloodweaver by Salamanders under the Forgefather Vulkan He’stan in M41. Accounts give the year as 722.M41 or 772.M41. No world or system is recorded. The Gauntlet of the Forge is one of the nine Artefacts of Vulkan: an armoured gauntlet with a built-in heavy flamer, said to have been worn by the Primarch Vulkan at the Drop Site Massacre on Isstvan V. It had come into Bloodweaver’s possession. When He’stan learned of its location, he led the Salamanders into battle against Bloodweaver’s warhost, defeated it, and took the gauntlet. It is the only one of the three artefacts he carries that he recovered himself, and he has borne it in battle since.
