Rhamiel Betrayal
The Rhamiel Betrayal was an ambush in M41 in which Supreme Grand Master Naberius was slain by Night Lords of the daemon prince Gendor Skraivok. By this era Skraivok had abandoned his former name and was known as the Painted Count. One account dates Naberius’s death to 939.M41, and another to 940.M41. One account states that Azrael led the Deathwing during the battle, fought alongside Chief Librarian Ezekiel, recovered Naberius’s body and the Chapter banner, and that the two defeated Skraivok, after which Azrael was named Supreme Grand Master and Keeper of the Truth. Another account states that the betrayal resulted in Naberius’s death, and that Skraivok later fought Naberius’s successor Azrael and was defeated through Ezekiel’s intervention. No other world is named for the betrayal. A Dark Angels company under Master Ballan is recorded, in 939.M41, as having fought a rebellion on Rhamiel. No segmentum or star system is recorded for Rhamiel.
